Verkhovna Rada to sit on Aug 27 – first deputy speaker
Verkhovna Rada plans to consider bills on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine over decentralization of power in the first reading on August 27, First Deputy Parliamentary Chairman Andriy Parubiy said.
"I think the sitting will be held on August 27," he said on air at Channel Five TV on Wednesday evening.
Moreover, Parubiy added that the factions continue talks if they would manage to collect a necessary number of parliamentarians' votes.
Parubiy also reminded that at this sitting the parliament is to collect 226 votes for backing in the first reading a draft amendments to the Fundamental Law, and during the next session on September 1 they need 300 votes for adoption of the Constitution in a new version.
