Poroshenko urges for Ukrainian flags to be hoisted nationwide before Independence Day
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has urged for the state flag of Ukraine to be hoisted over buildings across the country in the lead up to National Flag Day and Independence Day.
"We achieved victory under our flag more than once, we'll protect our independence for sure, our freedom, our dignity. On the verge of the Independence Day, let's raise our flag over every building in all four corners of our country! Let the yellow-and-blue flag be raised all over Ukraine!" Poroshenko posted on his social media accounts on Wednesday.
"The yellow-and-blue flag isn't just a symbol. It is a talisman for all Ukrainians," Poroshenko added.
Also, a large flag of Ukraine was hoisted outside the Presidential Administration's building on Wednesday.
