Defense of suspect Medvedko in Buzyna murder case to appeal court's ruling on prolonging detention
The defense team of Andriy Medvedko who is accused of killing journalist, publicist Oles Buzyna, will appeal the ruling of the Shevchenkivsky district court on prolonging Medvedko's detention by four months.
"We'll try to find the truth in the Kyiv Court of Appeals," lawyer Serhiy Voichenko told journalists.
As reported, the Shevchenkivsky district court will continue the hearing on prolonging the detention of the second suspect Denys Polischuk on Friday. On Thursday, Polischuk fell ill in court and an ambulance was called for him.
On Thursday, the court prolonged Medvedchuk's detention by 60 days.
Buzyna was killed in Kyiv in the yard of the apartment building he lived in after being shot.
