Belarus calls for settlements between Ukrainian, Belarusian commodity manufacturers to be made in national currencies – Makei
Belarus is interested in its economic entities making settlements with Ukrainian economic entities in the national currencies, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said.
"We are interested in settlements between economic entities being made in hryvnia because, as far as I know, our enterprises have Ukrainian currency in their accounts and Ukrainian enterprises have Belarusian currency. For this reason, I believe it's a normal process if we make our mutual settlements in the national currencies," Makei said at a briefing he gave jointly with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin in Kyiv on Wednesday.
At the same time, the Belarusian foreign minister reiterated that it is an issue of economic entities and the state can only support this process.
