Hackers supposedly from Russia, Ukraine arrested in U.S. on suspicion of corporate data theft

U.S. law enforcers have arrested five hackers, supposedly, from Russia and Ukraine that are suspected of getting access to companies' press releases connected to mergers and acquisitions before the official announcement of such cases, Bloomberg agency reported on Tuesday.

The agency said five out of nine suspects were arrested in the U.S. states of Pennsylvania and Georgia.

According to the U.S. authorities, the group of hackers allegedly hacked computer servers of PRNewswire Association LLC, Marketwired and Business Wire, a subsidiary of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc. They got access to yet-to-be announced cases and passed the information on to their partners in the U.S.

As the result of criminal actions, hackers managed to get over $30 million, Bloomberg noted,

Charges against the suspects will be announced in Brooklyn and New Jersey.
