On Monday, militants opened fire from multiple rocket launchers on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of the village of Starohnativka, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region.
"Today, on August 10, at 11.10, terrorist groups using multiple rocket launchers fired at the positions of the 72nd mechanized brigade in the area of the village of Starohnativka," the Defense Ministry of Ukraine said in a statement issued on Monday afternoon.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry stressed that now the Ukrainian military were holding their positions.
As reported, in the early hours of Monday, August 10, militants after a powerful artillery barrage, attacked the positions of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade near the village of Starohnativka.
The Ukrainian military managed to stop the militant offensive and attempts to break through its defenses and then launch a counter-offensive. As a result of the clashes, the illegal armed groups retreated, and Ukrainian troops moved three kilometers forward, having seized key heights.
