Court arrests fuel seized from VETEK and transferred to Ukrtransnaftoprodukt
The Kyiv Pechersky District Court on July 30 arrested the fuel previously seized from VETEK of Serhiy Kurchenko and transferred to Ukrtransnaftoprodukt for storage and sale.
The corresponding decision has been made public in the unified state register.
In particular, this concerns 20,491 tonnes of fuel, transferred to Ukrtransnaftoprodukt at the Skhid oil depot in Vasylkiv, the port oil depot of the National Industrial Union in Kherson and Odesa oil refinery, as well as 9,531 cubic meter of fuel transferred at the Kherson oil transshipment point of the National Industrial Union.
The fuel was arrested at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, which is investigating the appropriation of state property on a large scale through malpractice by Ukrtransnaftoprodukt officials.
The Prosecutor General's Office said that Ukrtransnaftoprodukt, without using competitive procedures (bidding, auction), sold 27,946 tonnes of fuel previously seized from VETEK to UkrOilProduct (part of Factor Group).
"As a result of the violation of the sale of fuel, which is physical evidence in criminal proceedings, and its sale at a reduced price, as well as the unjustified use of funds obtained from the sale, the officials of state enterprise Ukrtransnaftoprodukt caused damage totaling UAH 341.151 million to the state," the report said.
