Turchynov, U.S. congressmen discuss military-technical cooperation between their countries

On Wednesday, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) met with a delegation of House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress led by Minority Leader of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to discuss issues of inter-state and military-technical cooperation.

"Only a powerful Ukrainian army armed with modern weaponry can stop the aggressor and become an influential factor on peace and stability in Europe," the NSDC press service quoted Turchynov as saying.

The parties noted their similar assessments of Russian aggression and gave a great deal of attention to the efficiency of the recently introduced sanctions against Russia.

In turn, Pelosi said she reflected the views of American congressmen and women who support Ukraine who believe that the U.S. understands that a strong Ukraine can ensure stability in Europe.
