Ukraine's PGO suspects ex-minister Zakharchenko of receiving UAH 1.2 mln bribe
The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) suspects former interior minister of Ukraine Vitaliy Zakharchenko of receiving a bribe of UAH 1.2 million.
Zakharchenko allegedly received the bribe "for facilitating the unimpeded implementation of illegal economic activities by fictitious business entities that were created for the purpose of tax evasion… and for the conversion of non-cash resources into cash for the further legalization of proceeds from criminal activities."
Zakharchenko's actions fall under part 5 of Article 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or obtaining improper advantage by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigation into the legitimacy of the origin of other property and funds of Zakharchenko and his family continues.
