ECHR accepts 20 individual lawsuits from Ukrainians on violations of their rights due to Crimea, Donbas occupation – Justice Ministry
Justice Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Petrenko has said that 20 individual lawsuits have been filed by Ukrainian citizens whose rights were violated due to the occupation of Crimea and parts of Donbas.
"Ukraine started a special project, in which we via our free of charge centers for legal help of the Justice Ministry together with lawyers and human rights activists register violations of rights of every Ukrainian in Crimea and Donbas, and file corresponding individual lawsuits with the European Court of Human Rights [ECHR] against Russia," Petrenko told journalists on Tuesday.
He said that 20 such lawsuits have already been accepted by the ECHR, adding that "I think the process will be massive."
