Russia blocks adoption of UN Security Council's resolution on MH17 tribunal

Russia has blocked the adoption of the UN Security Council's draft resolution proposed by Malaysia to set up an international criminal tribunal to investigate the downing of Malaysia Airlines MH17 in eastern Ukraine in July 2014.

Eleven member countries voted in favor of the resolution, Russia voted against and there were three abstentions.

The resolution has not been adopted because Russia voted against it as a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
