Poroshenko: introduction of special procedure of self-govt in Donbas requires several conditions
The law on the special procedure of local self-government in individual parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions passed by the Ukrainian parliament will be enforced only after the fulfillment of several conditions, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
"Such a law has been passed by Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada twice – of the previous and current convocations. And it contains a dozen preconditions without fulfilling which the bill has not come into force. The key precondition of the bill [is that] Russian occupation troops must leave Ukraine. Ukrainian state sovereignty should be restored over the uncontrolled section of the Ukrainian-Russian border," he said at Wednesday festivities on the 150th birth anniversary of Metropolitan Andriy Sheptytsky in Lviv.
