Maidan protests crackdown inquiry probes 149 suspects; 23 of them to be indicted - Ukrainian Prosecutor General
Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin has said that eleven indictments against 23 individuals accused of thwarting protests in Maidan Square in late 2013 - early 2014 have already been sent to a court.
"Over the period from February 19 up to the present, investigators from the Prosecutor General's Office have sent a court eleven indictments against 23 individuals as part of a criminal inquiry into the thwarting of the protests," the prosecutor general said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
A total of 149 people have been notified as being suspected of having committed crimes against the protests, he said.
