Valeriy Kondratiuk has been appointed as chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, president's press secretary Sviatoslav Tseholko said.
"The president introduced a new chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate Valeriy Kondratiuk to the staff," Tseholko wrote on Twitter blog on Tuesday.
As reported, on July 24, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko dismissed Kondratiuk from the post of the chief of the Ukrainian Security Servic's (SBU) counter-intelligence department and appointed Vitaliy Naida instead.
