UAH 2 bln to be provided to local budgets due to decentralization - Jaresko
Local budgets which have not received the initial positive effect from budget decentralization will receive a stabilization subsidy of UAH 2 billion, Finance Minister of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko has said.
She said at a meeting at the Finance Ministry on Monday that the analysis of the results of the fulfillment of local budgets for H1 2015 showed that the impact of the reform was predictable.
"As it was planned, economically active communities' efforts have gained credence, as most of revenue were lest in local budgets. These are mainly cities and towns of regional importance," she said.
At present, the ministry is focusing its attention on the rest of the communities, mainly rural and district that experienced pressure during the reform. There are 51 such communities in Ukraine.
"Aid to these budgets will be provided via a stabilization subsidy of UAH 2 billion. The procedure and conditions are being drawn up," Jaresko said.
