U.S. provides Ukrainian security services with assistance worth almost $200 mln – ambassador
The United States has extended approximately $200 million worth of assistance to Ukraine's security services, U.S. Ambassador to Kyiv Geoffrey R. Pyatt has said.
He made these remarks at a press briefing during a Friday visit to the Yavoriv training range in Ukraine's western Lviv region, where Saber Guardian/Rapid Trident-2015 military exercises are taking place.
The ambassador said he was speaking about the funding of drills, equipment supplies and medical care.
Pyatt also said that this aid provided by the U.S. was only part of international efforts aimed at helping Ukraine protect its sovereignty.
