Kharkiv traffic police disbanded, to continue working for two months until new patrol police formed

Head of the main department of the Interior Ministry in Kharkiv region Major-General Anatoliy Dmitriyev has signed an order to liquidate the traffic police department of the city of Kharkiv.

According to the order, 90 employees of the traffic police department of the city of Kharkiv were dismissed, the Kharkiv region police department said in a statement issued on Friday,

However, the inspectors will continue to carry out their duties for the next two months.

"In October of this year, according to the Interior Ministry's plan, new patrol police will start policing the streets of Kharkiv, and will perform the functions of the liquidated traffic police department," the statement said.
