Prosecutor general asks Rada to permit arrest, detention of parliamentary coalition MP
Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin has asked the Verkhovna Rada to permit the arrest and detention of a parliamentary coalition MP.
"I made a presentation to bring to account a parliamentarian from the coalition," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
"I want to let you know that in my work there are no persons with immunity. This concerns everybody: both senior officials, and parliamentarians. Today I, despite definite partner relations with Verkhovna Rada MPs, signed and already filed a presentation to Verkhovna Rada – one has already been there – on bringing to account, arresting and the detention of one of the parliamentarians, a member of the pro-government coalition," Shokin said.
