Poroshenko: I saw Sakvarelidze as Anti-Corruption Bureau Head
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that he wanted to appoint Davit Sakvarelidze as Head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, however he ended up appointing him as Deputy Prosecutor General.
"Now I can uncover the mystery for the first time that I actually saw Davit Sakvarelidze in the Anti-Corruption Bureau," Poroshenko said in an interview with ICTV channel and added that he hadn't interfered with the work of the commission when choosing the bureau's head.
Poroshenko noted that Sakvarelidze had considerable experience in reforming prosecution agencies in Georgia which was why he was invited to Ukraine.
