Security & Defense Council identifies new possible threat in nuclear sector due to Russian aggression

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) considered issues related to nuclear security at its meeting on Monday.

"The NSDC has assessed a design basis threat to nuclear facilities, nuclear materials, nuclear waste and other sources of ionizing radiation in Ukraine. After the issue had been considered, a new design basis threat was approved with due regard to considerable changes in the security situation due to Russian aggression," the NSDC's press service said after the meeting.
