No agreements between U.S., Russia regarding settling Iranian issue in exchange for concessions in Ukrainian crisis
The U.S. didn't conclude any agreements with Russia on concessions in the Ukrainian crisis in exchange for Moscow's facilitation in settling the issue with Iranian nuclear program, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland said.
"The U.S. is not in the business of trading one thing for another in its international relations," she said in a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
Nuland said she was pleased with the cooperation with allies and Russia. "But we don't judge that Russia did it as a favor to U.S. or anybody else. It did it because its own interests were served by insuring that Iran does not get a nuclear weapon," she explained.
Nuland reminded that the U.S. continues demanding that Russia act in accordance with the obligations it had taken under the Minsk accords.
