Prosecutor General dismisses first deputy head of PGO's main investigative department, deputy prosecutor of Kyiv region, charged with bribery
Prosecutor General of Ukraine (PGO) Viktor Shokin has ordered the dismissal of Deputy Chief of the Main Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine Volodymyr Shapakin and Deputy Prosecutor of Kyiv region Oleksiy Korniyets.
The PGO press service said on Thursday that Shapakin and Kornyiets, as well as another citizen, were detained during a special operation on July 5. Then were told that they are suspected of committing an offense under part 4 of Article 368 the Criminal Code (bribery). If found guilty, they face between eight to twelve years of imprisonment, with the deprivation of their right to hold specific offices and the confiscation of property.
