Poroshenko to visit Zakarpattia region on Wednesday
Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko will go on a working visit to Zakarpattia region on Wednesday, according to the president's website.
"On Wednesday, July 15, President Petro Poroshenko will make a working trip to Zakarpattia region," the statement reads.
Later, the president's press secretary Sviatoslav Tseholko wrote on Twitter that Poroshenko would visit Uzhgorod and Mukacheve, hold a meeting with leadership of law-enforcement agencies.
However, Interfax-Ukraine has learnt that Poroshenko will present the new head of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal.
First Deputy Head of Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction in Ukraine's parliament Ihor Kononenko said that Moskal was appointed as the new governor of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration.
MP Anton Heraschenko (People's Front) confirmed this information.
At the same time, Leader of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction Yuriy Lutsenko told reporters that he hadn't yet seen a decree on the appointment. The presidential office has not yet confirmed information on Moskal's appointment to Interfax-Ukraine.
