Rada coalition factions approaching compromise on constitutional amendments – Poroshenko
The factions of the parliamentary coalition in the Verkhovna Rada are close to reaching a compromise on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine and the law on local elections, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
"I think we are very close to a compromise on the issue of amendments to the Constitution, and I think we have found a compromise on the issue of changes to the law on local elections," Poroshenko told reporters in Odesa in response to a question of an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent if common ground regarding the amendments to the Constitution had been reached in the coalition.
The president stressed that there was the political will for amending the Constitution and the election law.
