SBU chief asks for audit of activities of Odesa maritime port
Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasyl Hrytsak has asked Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to order an audit of the activities of state-run enterprise Odesa Maritime Merchant Port to combat ongoing smuggling and corruption.
"Taking this opportunity, I am asking Mr. President to instruct the Infrastructure Ministry to hold an audit of the state enterprise Odesa Maritime Merchant Port to check its compliance with the applicable regulatory acts - the observance of the relevant procedures at the checkpoints, in the areas of customs and other forms of control that are located on its territory. This is a huge problem. Please back this request," he said at a meeting chaired by Poroshenko in Odesa.
