Saakashvili says suspended Aviation Service head's lawsuit against him is unjustified
Head of Odesa Regional State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili has said does not understand how he could have caused damage of UAH 1 million to the suspended head of the State Aviation Service Denys Antoniuk.
"The suspended head of the State Aviation Service filed a lawsuit against me, saying that I made damage of UAH 1 million because of his being out of office with a wage of UAH 5,000. He is like the famous Odesa literary hero Panikovsky and demands a million. I am only interested whether the damage was inflicted in a minute, a day, a week, a month or a year?" Saakashvili wrote on his Facebook page.
As reported, Antoniuk appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine asking it to verify the legality of his suspension and decide on whether the actions of Saakashvili constituted a criminal offense. He also filed a lawsuit demanding compensation for the damage to his reputation.
On July 2, the Cabinet of Ministers suspended Antoniuk for the duration of an official investigation.
