Protesters refuse to leave Bagramian Avenue traffic route despite police appeals

The Armenian police have asked protesters to reopen Bagramian Avenue in the center of Yerevan to motor traffic.

"We are asking you to put Bagramian Avenue in order together, to restore its original looks and to clean it up," Yerevan deputy police chief Col. Valery Osipian has told the protesters.

"We are not using violence," he said.

The police have removed barricades made of garbage bins.

However, the sparse number of protesters remaining in the avenue have refused to vacate the traffic route they have blocked with a rope.
