Poroshenko vows unhindered passage of humanitarian cargo
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has vowed that humanitarian cargo sent to Donbas will enjoy a green corridor through the line of contact between the opposing sides.
"I have ordered that duly documented humanitarian aid must have a green corridor," Poroshenko said in an interview shown on Ukrainian television on Friday evening.
No one should stop such cargo or otherwise hinder its passage, Poroshenko said.
"We have already done this for International Committee of the Red Cross's humanitarian cargo, in which Ukraine is also taking part," he said.
Poroshenko said also that he had instructed head of Donetsk Region Military Civilian Administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky to start arranging vending sites near the line of contact, so that each Ukrainian could buy everything necessary at Ukrainian prices there.
