Poroshenko, Schulz to discuss EP observers monitoring October 25 local elections in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and European Parliament President Martin Schulz have met in Kyiv to discuss the possibility of European Parliament (EP) observers monitoring the local elections in Ukraine scheduled for October 25.
"Special attention at the talks will be paid to the preparation for the local elections in Ukraine, which will be held on October 25. It is very important that observers from the European Parliament should be present at these elections and confirm the free expression of the will of Ukrainian citizens," Poroshenko said in Kyiv on Friday.
