Poroshenko invites Canadian Governor General to visit Ukraine in 2015
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has sent his best wishes to Canadian Governor General David Johnston to mark his country's national holiday, Canada Day.
"Today, when Ukraine is fighting an unprecedented for a European state in the 21st century fight against an aggressor protecting its own sovereignty and territorial integrity, constant and decisive support from Canada is especially important," the president's press service quoted Poroshenko as saying.
He thanked Johnston for Canada's political, economic and technical help for Ukraine and said he would facilitate the development of a special partnership between Ukraine and Canada.
Poroshenko invited Johnston to visit Ukraine and expressed hope that they would have personal meeting in Kyiv in 2015.
