Head of Aviation Service to be suspended from post for period of investigation – Poroshenko
Head of the State Aviation Service Denys Antoniuk will be suspended from the post for the period of investigation into operation of the service, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
"I gathered the head of Odesa Regional Administration and infrastructure minister. I heard the arguments of [Andriy] Pyvovarsky and [Mikheil] Saakashvili. An investigation will be conducted into operation of the State Aviation Service, and during this period Antoniuk will be suspended from the post," the head of state wrote on his Facebook page on Saturday.
Saakashvili on June 26 came to a meeting of the commission of the Infrastructure Ministry on the issue of assignments for flights. He demanded that the State Aviation Service distributed assignments for flights on the competitive basis. He accused the head of the service of being biased during the distribution of the assignments and said that he will demand from the infrastructure minister to dismiss the commission.
