NATO secretary general stresses importance of reforms in Ukraine
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said that the Alliance's commitment to Ukraine is unwavering.
"But Ukraine also has to do its part. Reforms are essential. They require a determined effort on the part of our Ukrainian partners," he said in Brussels on Friday at the opening of the NATO-Ukraine Commission meeting.
Having noted the progress in the activities of the Trust Funds for Ukraine, Stoltenberg stressed the readiness of the Alliance to continue working with Kyiv in the implementation of reforms.
He reiterated that NATO would never recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia.
According to the NATO secretary general, there is still a risk of a return to heavy fighting. In this regard, he recalled the importance of the implementation of the Minsk agreements and the special responsibility of Russia in this process.
