Militants shell Ukrainian army positions in Donbas 80 times in past 24 hours

The press center of the Ukrainian army operation in the country's south-eastern regions has accused militants of firing multiple-launch rocket systems, tanks, howitzers and mortars on the Ukrainian army's positions and civilian infrastructure in Donbas 85 times in the past 24 hours.

"Yesterday the situation was most tense in localities in the vicinity of Donetsk," the press center said on its Facebook account on Tuesday morning.

Kyiv also accused militants of more than 20 ceasefire breaches at different sectors of the contact line after midnight, especially near the town of Artemivsk, where "they [militants] fired 122mm artillery systems and 120mm mortars on Zolote, Popasna, Rozivka, Zaitseve and Troitske almost ten times," the press center said.

Militants' units also shelled the Ukrainian army's positions near Maryinka using mortars, grenade launchers and air defense systems, it said.

More than ten drones operated by the militants were spotted last night. Most of them were detected over the Luhansk region.
