Another suspect in Ukrainian journalist Buzyna's murder remanded into custody
Andriy Medvedko, a man accused of killing Ukrainian journalist Oles Buzyna, has been remanded into custody until August 14.
The restraining measure was imposed on Medvedko by Kyiv's Shevchenkivsky District Court, an Interfax correspondent has reported. The court's session began at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday and finished at 2:00 a.m. on Friday.
The court, however, refused to release the suspect on guarantees from Ukrainian MPs Yuriy Lutsenko, Yuriy Levchenko and Andriy Ilyenko.
Medvedko served in the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's 'Kyiv-2' battalion, which fought in Donbas.
Medvedko and another suspect, Denys Polischuk, accused of murdering Buzyna, were detained on Thursday. Another man was detained later that day on suspicion of helping organize the killing.
Buzyna was shot and killed in the yard of an apartment block where he lived in Kyiv on April 16.
