Ukraine ready to give necessary aid to Georgia – Poroshenko
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has expressed his condolences to the relatives and friends of those who died in the flooding of Georgia's capital Tbilisi.
He said that Ukraine was ready to give necessary aid to Georgian people, the press service of the President reported.
"On behalf of Ukrainian people and myself, I express [my] condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased. I wish [for] those affected [by the disaster] to get well as soon as possible," reads the report.
According to the press service, Poroshenko said that Ukraine took the trouble of friendly Georgia in close to heart and is ready to provide assistance to its people.
Poroshenko also expressed his personal condolences to Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili due to the tragic consequences of the flood.
"With much grief [Poroshenko] took the news off tragic consequences of the flood in Georgia. [I] express sincere condolences to relatives and friends of the deceased," the President wrote on Twitter on Sunday.
June 15 will be a day of national mourning in Georgia after the flash floods in Tbilisi in Sunday.
As reported, 12 people have been confirmed as dying in the flood, and over two dozen people are still missing.
