Rada must vote for bills required for second IMF tranche next week – Yatseniuk
Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk has said he expects the Verkhovna Rada to vote for the bills required for the second IMF tranche next week, the Cabinet of Ministers press service reported on Thursday night.
"I expect the Ukrainian parliament next week will vote for three bills, which are necessary to get a second IMF tranche so that the program with the International Monetary Fund will be implemented," Yatseniuk said after a meeting with IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde during his working visit to Washington.
When asked by journalists on the IMF's mood regarding the next tranche for Ukraine, he said "the parliament should vote for several bills, which have been discussed already several times, which are rather simple and are vulnerable for none of the parliament members."
Yatseniuk added he hopes that if the Ukrainian parliament passes these bills, then the IMF Executive Board may meet to discuss the next tranche for Ukraine next week.
