Militants use modified "Grads" to shoot single shells towards Mariupol – Lysenko
Separatist militants have used a modified "Grad" multiple rocket launchers that shoot single shells to shoot towards Mariupol, Spokesman for the Anti-Terrorist Operation Andriy Lysenko has said.
"According to Ukrainian representatives in the Joint Control and Coordination Center, militants have been recently using a lot of 'Grad-P' launchers, known as 'Partizan' near Shyrokyne. This is a modification of 'Grad' multiple rocket launcher shooting single shells," Lysenko said at a briefing on Tuesday.
According to him, this information has been confirmed by Ukrainian intelligence sources.
"Particularly, the statistics of shelling of our positions indicate that the enemy has brought together up to five 'Grad-P' launchers near Shyrokyne. Due to its small size and mobility, this weapon is easy to conceal, however considering the caliber and reaction principle of operation, these launchers also must be put far from the contact line," Lysenko said.
