Merkel hopes for G7-Russian cooperation on international stage

The G7 countries are counting on the continuation of cooperation with Russia on a number of international issues, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said at a press conference on the results of the G7 summit on Monday.

According to her, the G7 summit paid a great deal of attention to Russia, not only because of the crisis in Ukraine, but also in combating terrorism.

In addition, Merkel pointed out Russia's significant role in negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program and the settlement of the situation in Syria.
