Donbas economic siege not to be lifted before full control over Russian border established – Poroshenko
Kyiv is ready to restore economic relations with Donbas provided that it fully controls the Ukrainian-Russian border, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
"We want to and we are ready to restore all economic relations with the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and to lift every internal barrier and restriction on people and commodities on condition that Ukraine restores control over the external border," the president said in his annual message delivered at the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday.
"Kyiv will not provide for and subsidize murderers and militants or help the bandits stay afloat," the head of state said.
