Militants begin new assault on Ukrainian military positions in Maryinka, town on fire – ATO press officer

The town of Maryinka (western part of Donetsk), which in the early hours of Wednesday was subject to a massive shell attack by separatist militants, remains on fire and the militants have begun a new attack on Ukrainian military positions, Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) HQ press center head Oleksandr Poroniuk has said.

"The situation began to worsen this night, the enemy started to shell our positions using multiple rocket launchers. Pisky and Vodiane also have been attacked. As a result of these shells Maryinka remains on fire. Twenty minutes ago illegal armed formations attacked the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Maryinka and Krasnohorivka," Poroniuk said on Wednesday.
