Ukraine should accelerate civil service reform, reforms in prosecution system – head of EU advisor mission
A critical mass of reforms in the country is still pending till now, Chairman of the EU advisory mission on civil security sector reform in Ukraine Kalman Mizsei has said.
"No, it would be wrong to say that there is no progress, but still it is not enough. So far, the critical mass of reforms is not achieved," he said at the 8th Kyiv Security Forum on Friday.
Mizsei said that he believes that Ukraine should speed up the civil service reform and reforms in the prosecution system.
He said that many positive changes have been made in the prosecution system, but it has to be legally fixed in the Constitution.
The expert said that wages to judges and policemen should be increased. He said that if people receive $100 a month they will be corrupted.
He said that the EU is tightly cooperating with Kyiv to help realizing these reforms.
