Hennadiy Moskal, the head of Luhansk Military and Civilian Administration, has reported fighting in the area between the populated areas of Krymske and Sokilnyky in the early hours of Wednesday.
Exchanges of fire, which led to fierce fighting, continued between Krymske (controlled by Ukraine) and Sokilnyky (controlled by the militants) in the period between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, he said. "The most fierce fighting occurred in the area of the tuberculosis sanatorium near Krymske, where the first strongholds of the Ukrainian military are located," the press service for Moskal reported on Wednesday.
According to Moskal, guns, mortars and anti-tank guided missiles were used in the fighting.
There were problems with cell communications in Krymske in the morning. No details about the consequences of the night fighting are currently available.
