Russian soldiers detained in Ukraine are terrorists, but will be given legal, medical aid – SBU

Ukraine considers the Russian soldiers, the members of the main intelligence directorate of the Russian General Staff, detained in Luhansk region, namely Captain Yevgeny Yerofeyev and Sergeant Alexander Alexandrov, to be terrorists, but will provide them with all the necessary legal and medical assistance, Adviser to the Ukrainian Security Service Head Markiyan Lubkivsky has stated.

"We consider these people to be terrorists, those who wanted to take the lives of our people, our troops. And no matter how hard it was for us, whatever the pain from the losses Ukraine suffered in the war is, we will provide Yerofeyev and Alexandrov with all the necessary legal and medical assistance they currently need. This is the principled position of Ukraine," he said on the Shuster Live program on Friday night.

Lubkivsky noted lawyers and diplomats can visit the detainees.

"And we do not create any obstacles to such visits," he said.
