U.S. excludes popular free online services in Crimea from sanctions list

The United States has excluded a number of U.S. Internet services, which were previously not available to the residents of Crimea, from the sanctions list, the U.S. Department of the Treasury has reported.

Now it is allowed to export to Crimea services related to personal communications in the Internet, such as instant messaging, chats, e-mail, social networks, photo and video sharing, web browsers and blogs under the condition they are widely used and free for users, reads the document posted on the website of the authority.

However, exports of such services are prohibited for persons or companies that are subject to sanctions, the document states.
