UAH 160 mln spent on European Wall project, it will be realized by 2018 - Yatseniuk
UAH 160 million has been spent on the implementation of the European Wall project to arrange the Ukrainian-Russian border, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk has reported.
"A total of UAH 160 million has been spent, which Ukraine received as technical assistance," he told reporters during his visit to the Senkivka international checkpoint (Chernihiv region).
According to him, the overall cost of the European Wall project is UAH 4 billion, of which UAH 2 billion will be used to purchase electronic monitoring and control systems, UAH 1.5 billion - for construction work.
Yatseniuk stressed that the project has two objectives - security guarantee "against the penetration of Russian saboteurs" and the economic aspect (job creation and support of domestic producers).
According to Yatseniuk, the European Wall project will be fully implemented in four years.
"The Ukrainian-Russian border will be built by 2018," he added.
