Three killed, 20 hospitalized after passenger bus turns over in Vinnytsia region – police
Near the village of Novi Obykhody, Nemyriv district, Vinnytsia region, around 19:00 a Mercedes coach en route from Chernivtsi to Sevastopol has turned over and fell to the side of the road, killing three passengers, another 20 received injuries of varying severity, according to the Interior Ministry of Ukraine.
"As a result of the traffic accident, two women and a man were killed. Twenty passengers, including five children, were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity," reads a statement posted on the website of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine on Tuesday.
According to the deputy head of the Interior Ministry branch in Vinnytsia region, Oleksandr Hlianko, the coach was carrying around 40 passengers.
The preliminary cause of the accident is a technical failure of the bus.
The police, rescuers and ambulances are working on the site.
