German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday promised various forms of support for Ukraine.
"There are a lot of issues that are very important for Ukraine for obvious reasons. Therefore, we must be united and help Ukraine in various ways. We must react very quickly to all problems Ukraine comes up against," Merkel said at a joint news conference with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko before talks in Berlin between the two leaders.
Mentioning her talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 10 about the implementation of the Minsk agreements, Merkel said: "I'm aware that there will be difficulties, but Ukraine enjoys support on its road to peace."
She said the agenda for her talks with Poroshenko on Wednesday included prospects for a complete ceasefire in eastern Ukraine.
