Competition agency starts probe into regional drug markets
The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine is currently investigating the organization of drugs retail in regional markets.
The press service of the committee told Interfax-Ukraine that the investigation into the provision of the drugs retail organization service conducted by the committee in 2014 found that certain transformation processes took place in regional pharmaceutical retail markets which resulted in the redistribution of the functioning structure of the pharmaceutical market, enlarging market players who operate as pharmacy chains.
On March 5, 2015, the committee sent recommendations to 129 market players asking them to bring the prices of drugs to the economically justifiable level. At present, the committee is receiving answers from market players.
