Donbas should let Ukrainian aid in - Merkel

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has called on decision-makers in Donetsk and Luhansk to allow Ukrainian aid convoys into the region.

"I am calling on all those who are now making decisions in Donetsk and Luhansk, I am urging all responsible individuals to let the Ukrainian relief aid in so as to improve the situation for people there," she said after talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"People in this region of course live in a very complicated humanitarian situation and we need to make everything to improve this humanitarian situation," she said.
