Poroshenko signs law exempting drugs bought via intl organizations from VAT, imports duty
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed law No. 332-VIII on Amending the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding the exemption of some drugs and medical products from taxation, the press service of the head of state reported on Tuesday.
The law would allow cutting the cost of drugs and medical products bought by international organizations. The law would allow buying the larger amount of drugs and medical products as a part of state procurement.
The amendments to the Tax Code approved by the law foresee temporarily exemption of VAT for transactions on imports of registered drugs and medical products to the customs territory of Ukraine and their first supply.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved a list of drugs and medical products that are exempted from taxation.
The law was passed on April 9, 2015.
